The Computer Engineering Faculty of the University of the Basque Country was interested in obtaining data to study the use of social networks by users with cognitive disabilities. They contacted Gureak business corporation, which employs people with cognitive disabilities. They both working together concluded that most existing applications on the market are not accessible to people with cognitive disabilities and it was necessary to create a social network ad hoc. Lotura was elected as the technological developer of the platform. In the platform creation process, the users with disabilities have participated as active agents for the design and development of the tool, giving their opinions and validating what the development team was performing.
